On the train to Schipol, an elderly American couple from Virginia speak with a young Swedish man who asks: “How do you like Europe?” “Oh it’s fine, we’ve been here before, it’s just like the US now anyway. There’s McDonalds and Pizza Hut.” Most people in the compartment rolled their eyes.
