I’ve spent the last couple of weeks doing a bit of life admin including going to the post office, buying a new laptop, getting a radio repaired, returning books at the library and other 1990s activities. So I’m now ready to face the inevitable question from The West Wing.
Basically, from May 12th I’m available for freelance work until the right full time opportunity presents itself.
Freelance services:
- Interim Head of Research
If you want to set up an R&D function in your business, I can help you think about how you might do that successfully and what good looks like. I set up an R&D team at Bulb Energy in 2017-8 and wrote a book about innovation. - Project or Programme management
The last time I did this in 2023, I had 50 vendors/partners to manage on a tight multi million pound budget. It went well and the client was happy. - Independent funding assessor
I’ve been an assessor for AHRC, EU Horizon 2020, Innovate UK, EIT Digital, EIT Fintech. If you’re applying for funding, i’ll happily look at your application too and give you my perspective. - General business advice for creative business owners
My experience working with teams of 4-120 means I have some views on everything from HR policies, employment contracts to IP and operations.
In terms of full time roles, I’m really going to focus on leadership roles in the C-Suite for small to medium organisations that ideally are working on climate related things. That’s the best framing I can give. If there’s something in this that you’d like to talk to me about, you know where to find me.
