Some people’s PhDs are really cool. “My recently completed PhD thesis focused on the role of women in driving dining change.” I’m interested in how cooking and tech never really seem to work as per Intel’s “smart kitchen counter” that I would never use.
Also found a really nice recipe book writing conference that took place in 2008. They don’t seem to have filmed it though…shame for an archeology-based conference.
I’m a little obsessed with The September Issue at the moment. I really like Anna Wintour, basically because she’s very English and terrifies the Americans. Also because it’s about the job of running a newspaper which looks like a total nightmare.
Been reading Watching the English and want to do a comic-strip for it. I saw a brilliant exhibition last summer in Paris on Architecture and Comics and bought to catalogue, so will pour over that I think.
