We’re getting closer and closer to 1984… when everyone will be transparent and have no private life and we’ll love it oddly enough it seems…

Tome Coates blogged this the other day. I got 57 points… but felt like an idiot at the end of it, usually priding myself on being world-savvy… grrr damn knowledge…
Sorry you feel that way about dandelife. I’ve been careful to make sure that our members do not post compromising information. I like to think of the site as a place to share stories more than expose thier inner-most thoughts. Indeed, the default publishing settings are to keep stories completely private. Surely you must have one or two stories that you would gladly share in a bar amongst friends and strangers, no?
hi Kelly,
hmm, i guess you didn’t get the sarcasm in that description. My statement was much more general than your business idea and relates much more to my general perception of “connectivity” in web2.0 at the moment. There is a definite movement at the moment of identity management, and users are generally tired of letting everyone know about their content and are being much more careful about who their audience is (think twitter, vox, etc..). After the era of adding and collecting contacts, users are now cleaning up their act a little, and I’m glad your service provides that option. Visualization is a powerful tool and being able to trace everything one does all the time has definite appeal and poses new issues that as a society we must answer… I’m just the devil’s advocate : ) Good luck with dandelife though…
